Jake Max: Non-Profit Re-branding, social graphics, and apparel design

I work as a freelance designer for Jake Max (click for website), a company that combines art, advocacy, and apparel, to support children with special needs. “The brand aspires to provide people with special needs an opportunity to take part in the creation of clothing and a culture that strives to promote positivity, activity, and creativity.”

I was tasked with re-branding the company’s logo. After working with the owners, we decided upon an organic, custom logo that emulates a paint splat, conformed to an inclusive circle shape. I also chose a typeface that mimicked the pre-existing web design typeface. I provided the owners with a branding page, based on their color recommendations.

Keeping consistency with this new branding, I devise Instagram (click for IG page) social graphic posts to introduce each “Maximizer”, stories to give more information about each maximizer, icons for saved stories, and other posts and templates. Each of these posts are simple, creative, and give resonance to the brand; they also tie in with the choices of UGC and photography throughout the curated feed.

I also assist on the back end of the store website, on Shopify, to help create and design apparel consistent with current trends.

Finally, I manage all art and assets and edit on Photoshop. I isolate both images of Maximizers, as well as clean up their artwork (while maintaining artist originality).
